Wie - oh wie- had ooit gedacht dat ik dit fraaie boekwerk, dat ik voor een prikkie bij de witte boekhandel had gekocht, ooit eens echt zou gebruiken?
Aan mij de eer het Britse en Russische contingent op poten te zetten, en dan is het toch wel handig dat er wat uniform-info aanwezig is.
De basis van de Britten is dan wel makkelijk, (rode uniformjas, zwarte steek, witte broek en zwarte slobkousen), maar blijkbaar verschilt dus per regiment de kleur van de omslagen van de jas: het 29e Regiment (Worcestershire) bijvoorbeeld had felgele omslagen, en het 25e regiment (King's own Borderers) donkerblauwe (net als het Vierde regiment, The King's Own. Gelukkig is er ook nog informatie over de officieren.

Well, to be honest, I never expected to actually use the above book, which I bought rather cheap in a 'White Bookstore', where generally books are sold nobody really wants.
Quite a good book actually for a novice to the Revolutionary/Napoleonic period, giving detailed info especially on the British troops, like colour of the uniforms and regalia. Unfortunately no info on flags and colours, and the info on the Russians is a bit hit and miss. My Foundry Brits (AWI ones) are primed and the first faces and eyes are painted, using the Kevin Dallimore two/three colour/shade method.
